Jimmy Augustine Tinaza passed away last week at his home in Lower Lake, CA. Born on November 22, 1950 to Daniel and Ruth Tinaza in Whittier, CA. Jimmy was raised as a youth in Orange Cove, CA where he helped his father work in the agricultural fields. He was close to his father and he introduced him to his Filipino heritage and community. By the time of high school his family had relocated to Santa Rosa, CA where Jimmy graduated from El Molino High. He worked for the Laborer's Union for almost 30 years, until retirement in 1999. Shortly afterward he moved to Lower Lake for a quiet and peaceful retirement with his wife and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Ruth Tinaza, and by his beloved wife of over 32 years, Adrienne Bobette Tinaza. Jimmy is survived by daughter Michelene Andrea (Missy) Carroll and sons Justin Andrew Tinaza and Jared Aaron Tinaza. Grandchildren include Kiraleah, Crystal, Tristen, Maxim and Seth. He is also survived by his brothers Daniel Jr., George and sister Sharon.

Jimmy had a strong work ethic and had no problem working two jobs at a time occasionally to support his family. It was a responsibility he took quite seriously. He was devoted to his three children and his beloved wife, Adrienne (Bobette). Tragedy struck in 2003 when Adrienne was killed by a careless driver in an auto wreck. This was devastating to Jimmy and he never recovered from it. He often spoke of someday being reunited with his wife and said he was counting the days towards it.

Jimmy was known for his eclectic and self-depreciating sense of humor. His canned response to "how are you?" was always "short, fat and bald. Perfect!" He often tried to make people happy and break the ice by telling short and quick to the punchline jokes. His generosity knew no bounds and there was no check or bill he wouldn't gladly pick up. People's happiness was of utmost importance to him and he reveled in lighting the mood.

Jimmy loved taking vacations and became a world traveler, going often to Mexico and the Caribbean, and also places as diverse as Chile, Italy, France, Greece and Australia. He had a timeshare in Puerto Vallarta and shared it with his family and as many people as he could. He had a lifelong love of the ocean and was an avid abalone diver up until relatively recently.

Many people who knew Jimmy Tinaza knew him to be a dedicated witness of Jehovah. Rarely was he absent from congregation meetings and he had a strong zeal in the ministry. Preaching and teaching to people about God's Kingdom was his priority in life. He was regularly pioneering when he met Adrienne Bobette which they longed to return to, after raising a family. This is a promise which he faithfully kept. After his retirement he enjoyed being alongside Adrienne in their work. And when Adrienne died, as heartbroken as he was, he did not stop. He knew that she was in the safest place she could possibly be, in Jehovah's memory. His faith in Jehovah moved him to do everything he could to show that he wanted to be there with her in the new system. Now that he's gone he will definitely not be forgotten, but rather, joining Adrienne in Jehovah's memory and awaiting the day he will see Revelation 21:3 & 4 fulfilled.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on October 15th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3931 Pine Ave., Clearlake, CA 95422. Post funeral arrangements will be held at Highlands Senior Services Center, 3245 Bowers Ave., Clearlake, CA 95422

Jimmy will be sorely missed by both family and friends alike. In his lifetime he prayed on behalf of countless people. Please pray on his behalf and keep him in your thoughts. We love you, Jimmy. You'll be with Bobette soon.

With eternal gratitude and love, Jimmy Augustine Tinaza, 1950 - 2016.
